THE POSITION

As a Developmental Specialist, you will supervise developmental therapy and supported living services, to ensure individuals with developmental disabilities are receiving quality care in a safe environment. You will also be responsible for training and supervising Direct Support Professionals, administering developmental assessments, developing and implementing individual program plans, as well as providing direct services for our individuals on an as-needed basis.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintains DDA compliance with Health & Welfare and Medicaid Rules and RegulationsParticipate in meetings Acts as primary contact for developmental therapy for client’s, families, and other professionals involvedProvides individual and group developmental therapy (including transporting clients) as neededProvide evaluations and consultation on an ongoing basisAssist with Quality Assurance and file reviewEnsures that individuals receiving services are treated with dignity and respectQualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service fieldOne (1) year experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or 240 hours of professionally supervised experience with individuals with developmental disabilitiesAbility to communicate effectively through verbal and written communicationsStrong independent problem solving and decision-making skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and interdependentlyPrevious supervision experience (preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other software platformsMust provide or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by RISE)Must provide or obtain MANDT and/or other de-escalation certification training (provided by RISE)Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and car insuranceMust be able to pass a background check
