Description

We are seeking a Summer Device Engineering Intern to work with our advanced development team, a group of semiconductor device, process, and design experts, in development of compound semiconductor technologies used in the manufacturing of various RF functional blocks for cellular and WiFi applications. You will gain real world industrial experience, while contributing to key development projects with a diverse team of experts.

Responsibilities Design and evaluate new epitaxial structures through ML/AI Driven Epi Development Define machine learning models for epitaxial development Setup/automate TCAD simulations for model training Investigate optimization routines for ML training Validate optimized epitaxial structures through device test Required Experience and Skills Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program, preferably PhD, studying Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Material Science Preferred Skills Strong Computer Programming skills [Python, use of scikit-rf] Understanding of Compound Semiconductor (GaAs and/or GaN based devices) stack-ups and their influence on device performance Knowledge in Device Simulation Platforms [Sentaurus, Silvaco] Knowledge in ML/AI models Basic understanding of device fabrication process steps, yield analysis and DC/RF device parameters are a plus Strong communication skills needed, both written and verbal.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
