DevOps Engineer
About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled contract DevOps Engineer to join our team and support cloud deployments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at problem-solving, thrives in collaborative team environments, and is an effective communicator across all organizational levels. If you are passionate about streamlining operations, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability of mission-critical systems, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with Software Development teams, Product Managers, and Business Owners to ensure seamless deployment and operation of systems.
+ Design and implement CI/CD pipeline configurations for provisioning and deploying both large- and small-scale systems.
+ Develop and automate tools for monitoring system health and reliability to meet business process requirements.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
+ Communicate project status, challenges, and risks clearly to product teams and stakeholders.
+ Implement strategies to automate and streamline operations and processes.
+ Build, maintain, and enhance tools for system deployment, monitoring, and operations.
+ Use your expertise in Git or some other version control systems in an Agile environment
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A four-year degree is preferred but not required.
+ 3–5 years of professional DevOps engineering experience, with prior experience in a senior reporting role.
+ Hands-on experience with AWS is required; familiarity with other cloud providers is a bonus.
+ Strong background in Linux or Unix systems.
+ Comprehensive understanding of security principles and demonstrated ability to mitigate risks through technology.
+ Proficiency with automation tools such as Puppet, Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
+ Prior experience with tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, microservices, and message queues is highly beneficial.
+ Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI, AppVeyor) is required.
+ Experience with version control systems such as Git and working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
+ Sound understanding of modern platform technologies and industry-standard best practices.
+ Experience in financial services is a plus but not required.
