DevOps Engineering Associate

JOB SCOPE

DevOps Engineering Associate will work with development and infrastructure teams to assist in creating software solutions that use prevailing technologies and improve the customers’ experience in accordance with DevOps principles . Will assist with production support during the launch, design and development of specific software subsystems under the supervision of Sr DevOps engineers. Works with direction in areas that are of limited scope and has the opportunity to expand to more complex phases while closely supervised.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Work with developers, testers, and deployment teams to execute software deployment plans. Create and update basic automated scripts for installation of server software products. Configure simple to moderately complex hardware and Virtual Machines. Assist in code deployment in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment under the guidance of technical team members. Partner with senior developers and hardware teams to update infrastructure and OS for applications. Perform lab installations and upgrades of server software products at the supervision of management to ensure quality deployments. Work with developers and infrastructure teams to install and upgrade approved third party software. Monitor systems performance, and reliability as well as the daily data processing. Participate in project-related stand-up meetings. Review and provide feedback for all external facing user documentation, including on-line help. Provide documentation support as necessary.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience Business/Systems analysis experience Database management systems experienceCoding, testing, and software design experienceSoftware development methodologies experience

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and incomplete information when evaluating alternatives and making recommendations Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks Ability to write clear technical documentation for use by developers and testers Effective verbal and written communication skills Basic knowledge of technology (inputs, outputs, and processing flows), and ability to communicate that knowledge Understanding of software design patterns and principles Beginning knowledge in automating software deployments as much as possible, using such tools as Puppet, Chef, Python and Ansible Foundational understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)

The base pay for this position generally is between $60,900.00 and $97,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
