DevOps Integration Engineer
Division: Technology Department: IT-Digital Solutions & Dev Reports to: SVP, Chief Digital Officer Status: Exempt/Officer Grade: 14 Salary Range: $115,297 - $244,889 Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Location: Hybrid - within MA (preferred, CT, NY, VT, RI Purpose/Objective: The DevOps Integration Engineer ensures successful deployment and adoption of API integration and orchestration throughout the bank. Plays a pivotal role in shaping the transformation from legacy systems to an API first integrated platform of solutions. Has knowledge of the integration protocols and best practices and is comfortable utilizing various technology platforms to ensure that systems are integrated to ensure a secure, scalable, and supportable integration ecosystem to support Business requirements. Capable of understanding business requirements, working with stakeholders, and implementing complex integrations. Digitization efforts will focus on the API platform needed to support a modern flexible digital banking experience and may include a wide variety of FinTech integrations to improve user experiences for web and mobile solutions. Possesses a full understanding of API strategy development and thorough knowledge of Middleware technologies. Expected to evaluate current procedures and processes to accomplish objectives while continuously working to develop and implement improved practices. Has expert knowledge of micro services architecture and API strategy and ensure development of end-to-end solutions including the design, development, analysis, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on system specifications. Able to manage systems support, interaction with other technical support areas, and strategic partners to design and deliver to technical specifications. Has demonstrated experience in engineering large scale deployment/migrations/new implementations and a strong troubleshooting mind-set. Proficient in scripting languages including SQL, Python, and PowerShell along with a full understanding of integration/full stack best practices. Has an expert understanding of API management in terms of design, development, and security of complex workflows and infrastructure to support cloud and OnPrem solutions. Key Accountabilities: + Delivery - Advanced delivery skills including the ability to estimate accurate timelines for tasks and deliver work at a steady, predictable pace to achieve commitments, accountable to the software design strategy and methodologies to meet the system requirements, consider and build for many different use cases, avoid over engineering, and ensure automation. Deliver complete solutions but release them in small batches via an Agile methodology. 40% + Domain Expertise - Demonstrated track record of domain expertise including understanding technical concepts necessary to do the job effectively while staying aware of industry trends. Demonstrates willingness, cooperation, and concern for business issues and priorities, and possess in depth knowledge of immediate systems worked on and some knowledge of adjacent systems. Experience working with a variety of data sources and destinations including but not limited to on-premises structure and unstructured data, Cloud based databases, API endpoints (SOAP and REST), Flat files, XML, and JSON. Specific experience working to create RAML Specifications as API contracts for development. Understand and implement appropriate scripting. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira and Confluence to create/manage CI/CD pipeline. 40% + Communication - Strong communicator who possesses the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely with the business, document work in a clear, easy to follow manner, collaborate well with team members, take in vague requirements, and ask the right questions to ensure clarification. Has ability to manage and motivate on shore and offshore partner networks. 20% + Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by ones duties. Education: + Bachelors degree, preferably in math or IT related courses + Must have hands-on integration experience) + Ideally will be familiar with Microsoft and MuleSoft integration technology platforms. Experience: + 5-6+ years utilizing running sprints with Agile methodologies + 6+ years of Experience using Java, System Integration-related experience, Apigee, Talend, SQL, MuleSoft, Microsoft Stack (Azure Integration Services) Knowledge in SOAP/REST Web Services, JMS, Spring + Experience with databases, CI tools and web technologies + Advanced understanding and experience with the Salesforce eco-system is a plus + Banking / financial services experience a plus Skills & Knowledge: + In depth knowledge of business processes across the organization + Interpreting requirements to develop services/integrations with adherence to development best practices + Developing RESTFul APIs with RAML using current platforms for API development and governance + Implement the development of multiple interface services to connect both internal and external SOAP and REST web services + Develops, build, deploy, test, and monitor integration platforms + Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused + Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers and management + Ability to gain buy-in from end-users and translate into product evangelism Berkshire Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer - all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin.
