Overview Assures collection, quality, and submission of diabetes chart audit data for the annual IHS Diabetes Care and Outcomes Report which is a requirement of the $7.5/yr SDPI Grant Program. Responsible for collection, analysis, and submission of data for annual reporting requirement s for accreditation of Diabetes Self-Management Education Program (DSME). Assesses current reporting needs, develops systems and processes for efficient systematic data collection from Diabetes Program clinical staff and from projects funded by the Diabetes Program. Creates and maintains databases for specific projects. Analyzes data and prepares reports. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Public Health, Business, or Statistics; no substitutions. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional three (3) years' experience in a related field is required. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of diabetes disease process, Cherokee and Indian population characteristics, and the use of census data is preferred. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
