Our organization:
The Diagnostic Engineer & Test Developer is part of the global GTO Quality & Engineering organization responsible for Manufacturability of the Product, being the main interface of GTO towards Group Trucks Technologies department for product engineering and Group Trucks Purchasing for product development along suppliers.  The mission of a Diagnostic Engineer & Test Developer is to secure a product that is verified, validated & aligned with Volvo Performance System (VPS) and Volvo Operations Concept (VOC). The Diagnostic Engineer & Test Developer will establish clear and commonly shared product requirements for one’s dedicated area of responsibility.
 

This is us, your new team:

GTO Quality & Engineering, working closely with the manufacturing plants, have the end-to-end responsibility for product project’s introduction.

 

Main activities and responsibilities:
The Diagnostic Engineer & Test Developer will establish and drive product requirements, evaluate and select the preferred concept supporting the manufacturing process. Then analyze, document, develop and release test operations to secure product quality.
Once pre-production starts, the Diagnostic Engineer & Test Developer will troubleshoot software, electronic and electrical product related issues, discovered during the assembly process.

  Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and mindset:
 

A Bachelor of Science degree in either Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent with, generally, experience equivalent to 3 or more years of progressive automotive experience. Wiring diagrams/schematic reading skills. Basic understanding of automotive electronic/electric architecture:

           Electronic Control Units (ECU) and peripheral input devices and output devices.

           OBD II specification, DTCs.

           Communication protocol and standards (SAE, CAN).

           Truck electrics and wiring harnesses.

Solid English skills, additional languages are meritorious A communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in. You are curious and willing to learn and have a continuous improvement mindset Experience in Automotive Manufacturing is an advantage.
