M Health Fairview is looking for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Fairview Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. We are known for our award-winning heart, stroke and cancer care. Imaging Technologists deliver services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The Sonographer performs diagnostic Ultrasound exams under the direction of a Radiologist and provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. Schedule: This is a .8FTE (64 hours worked per two weeks) position. The shift length will be 8 hours. Typical work schedule will be; Week 1: Monday, 4:00PM to 12:30AM, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11:00AM to 7:30PM Week 2: Monday, 11:00AM to 7:30PM, Tuesday, 4:00PM to 12:30AM, Thursday, Friday, 11:00AM to 7:30PM Benefits: This position is eligible for amazing benefits. This includes medical, dental, vision, HSA, PTO, 403B, tuition reimbursement, and so much more! Responsibilities Job Description Performs a wide variety of thorough, diagnostic ultrasound exams. Educates patients prior to and throughout their ultrasound exam. Ensures all patient questions are answered and focuses on minimizing patient anxiety. Prepares for exams prior to patient's arrival. This includes reading the provider s order, reviewing pertinent medical history, consulting with clinician or radiologist, preparing paperwork and gathering supplies. Facilitates the performance of interventional procedures such as reading the provider s order, gathering medical history, coordinating care with other departments, setting up correct equipment and supplies, using proper sterile technique and communicating appropriately with performing physician. Makes quick and patient focused decisions in times of high patient volume and rapid change. Keeps patient environment and workspace clean and organized, which includes stocking linen and supplies in an organized and timely manner. Completes requisitions and charges for supplies in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring our patients receive prompt diagnosis and care. Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Qualifications Required: Associate degree from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employment Basic Life Support (BLS) –From the American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire Preferred: 1 year of hospital-based experience Proficiency in breast, general, interventional, OB and vascular ultrasound EEO Statement EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status
