**Job Title:** Diagnostic Technologist **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Schedule:** Day shift (Monday through Friday) and every other weekend (third shift) **Sign-On Bonus and Student Loan Incentive:** + **Generous Sign-On Bonus:** Up to $15,000 for qualified applicants with a two-year work commitment. + $10,000 for 0-1 year of experience + $15,000 for 1+ years of experience + **Monthly Loan Repayment Program:** Exclusively for new graduates, offering $9,000 in loan repayment over three years. **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Diagnostic Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform imaging procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role involves a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. **Responsibilities:** + Properly identify all patients using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures. + Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition. Document patient history in the electronic record as required. + Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. + Ensure all exams within your area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the RIS system. Network all exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and ensure all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed. + Perform diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols and procedures without requiring constant supervision. + Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation of image data, completing procedures according to protocol. + Demonstrate a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of care, listening, dignity, and respect. Work effectively as a team member within the department and with other departments to expedite patient care efficiently. + Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment to adjust protocols and show initiative in applying prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes. + Communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely, explaining procedures to help alleviate their fears and solicit their cooperation. Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from an approved school of completion of the program and scheduled graduation date. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date. CPR or BLS Required. CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire + ARRT Certificate + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
