UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join their team of life-changers! This position will work evening shifts with no weekends and rotating holiday requirement. As a Diagnostic Technologist, you’ll perform imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

UPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 dependent on your experience and eligibility. This sign-on bonus will require a 2-year commitment.

Responsibilities:

Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures. Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols. Document patient history in electronic records as needed. Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered. Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols. Use complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation. Interact with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork. Perform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use. Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears.
