Job Description Summary:

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care administered to meet or exceed the continuum of care.Registration as Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), CPR certification ans 2 years experience required. Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, responsible for routine daily operations of assigned unit. Employee is subject to overtime and call back as circumstances dictate.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assigns and monitors patient care according to age specific needs, assessment, acuity needs, plan of care, and competency of assigned available personnel. Participates in training, evaluates employee performance, participates in counseling, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and dismissal for assigned personnel. Responds to complaints and incidents, conducts investigations, takes corrective action, and prepares documentation. Evaluates, recommends, and orders adequate supplies and equipment necessary for delivery of quality care. Evaluates, interprets, and implements hospital and nursing policies and procedure for assigned unit and recommends changes as needed. Provides clinical and classroom instruction in field of expertise as necessary to include patient and staff teaching and discharge planning. Assures responsibility for continued professional growth. Develops and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the unit. Performs related responsibilities as required or as circumstances dictate. Must be role model with positive attitude - a team player. Must practice "Guest Excellence" in order to be a role model. Must be Self-Motivated. Responsible for seeing that occurrence reports are completed and doctors notified by staff. Notify Radiology Manager of any major occurrence. Must communicate information to management and give feedback on staff behavior, performance, and if staff members are following hospital policy and procedures. Act as preceptor for staff. This includes professional dress as per hospital policy; uniform that meets dress code standard or street clothes on special occurrences. Perform corrective action in proper manner and report to Radiology Manager. Assist with or delegate location of lost charges. Monitor and/or assist as needed to see that staff follows through on daily, weekly and monthly floor assignments, i.e., equipment check list, accu-check controls, refrigerators cleaned, general unit cleaning, etc.….. Encourage staff to complete payroll records. Note overtime, people late and call-ins. Follow through and check off staff on unit competency and mandatories. If needed leave information in communication book. Ordering unit supplies in cost effective manner. Responsible for seeing that supplies are stored properly. When units are busy assist with putting up supplies, keeping units neat and clean. During peak workload responsible for being out on unit and set-aside office hours until not busy. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the profession. Such proficiency is acquired through completion of an associate, diploma, or baccalaureate degree in the healthcare field. Additional educational preparation in administrative techniques desirable.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

For Technologist: Registration as Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), CPR certification required.Is proactive and insure the availability of a current license, does not let licenes lapse at the end of the birth month. Notifies any known problems with their license immediately to the Director.

EXPERIENCE:

At least two -(2) year's continuous/current healthcare experience.
