The Dialysis Nurse Educator (RN) provides initial and ongoing professional training and education for facility staff.

 

Schedule: Fulltime shifts typically include eight-hour days Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends off, although may be adjusted to align with clinic’s operational hours.

 

Compensation: Pay range from $41.00-$55.10 per hour, depending on nursing and dialysis experience

What You Can Expect:

Support and guidance from corporate clinical teamDevelop unit-specific policies and procedures with guidance from medical director and clinic managerLead classroom theory training for patient care staff new to dialysisVerify new staff competencies before assigning additional independent tasksOversee preceptor program and report progressEducate staff on new and existing clinic policies and proceduresProvide instruction to patient care team to correct deficiencies identified during federal or state surveysAssign and monitor completion of new-hire and annual online education modules within established deadlinesAdminister annual competency testing of all patient care staff, and if needed, provide additional training to those not meeting requirementsAudit medical records, infection control and regulatory compliance annually and develop a corrective plan for any deficienciesMonitor and track licensure and certifications for all disciplinesEnsure any non-certified PCTs test for certification within 12 months of hireCoordinate or facilitate CPR certification classes Qualifications

Education/Training:

Accredited nursing degree required (BSN, AA, RN diploma)Two years’ dialysis experience required, with six months’ experience as a charge nurse preferredCurrent TN Registered Nurse licenseCurrent CPR/AED certification
