Responsibilities Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment Provide safe, effective delivery of patient care in compliance with standard outlined in the facility procedure manual, as well as regulations set forth by the corporation, state and federal agencies Provide the direct patient care for ESRD assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment. This information is documented by the technician in the appropriate patient record. Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the R.N. Assist with all emergency operational procedures Initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment Able to safely operate all dialysis related equipment Able to provide minor trouble shooting when necessary Familiarity with all emergency equipment Recognize and respond to machine alarms Participate in staff meetings as scheduled Assist in patient care plan meetings when appropriate Acquire information and knowledge in current practice related to dialysis technique and principles by participating in scheduled in-service classes Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications Job Requirements: High school degree or GED Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis Certification from an accredited dialysis program BLS/CPR certification MUST HAVE CCHT OR BONENT CERTIFICATION Previous Dialysis experience (1-3 years)
