Job Description
Administers dialysis treatment and performs other related duties in support of dialysis patients.
Job Responsibility
+ Administers dialysis treatment to patients.
+ Explains procedures to patient prior to performing procedure and provides emotional support as necessary.
+ Maintains vigilance over patients during dialysis to ensure dialysis equipment is functioning properly and safety precautions are followed; observes patients condition during treatment and reports unusual symptoms to RN or physician.
+ Applies hemodialysis principles in practice integrating nursing implications specific to age, co-morbidities and individual needs.
+ Documents hemodialysis treatment appropriately in accordance with standards of practice.
+ Adheres to standards, policy and procedure in utilization of vascular access and performing ultrafiltration for hemodialysis.
+ Utilizes and maintains equipment such as dialyzers, dialysis machines, blood pressure monitors and reuse equipment.
+ Executes procedures in using the Bicarbonate system including, mixing bicarbonate, disinfection and rinsing of bicarbonate preparation and delivery system, mixing additional bicarbonate solution while system is in use and purging air from bicarbonate loop.
+ Utilizes the AMI computer system to document the Hemodialysis flow sheet.

Job Qualification
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Current Hemodialysis Technician Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
+ 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $25.22-$34.51/hour
