Dicing Operator (Off Shift) Department: Manufacturing Employment Type: Full Time Location: Cazenovia, New York Reporting To: Production Supervisor Compensation: $19.50 - $20.50 / hour Description This is a hands on manufacturing role assigned to of the manufacturing work centers tasked in building the thin film product. Key Responsibilities + Follow and support all safety practices by wearing proper PPE, identification of potential safety risks, and reporting all safety incidents as they occur. + Review and monitor all product, processes, and equipment operation for potential safety risk. + Follow “pre-flight and first article” requirements if required. + Identify product perceived as not having met the specification criteria as noted on the line card or within the work instruction. Initiate communication with a supervisor to have the issue resolved. + Keeps management abreast of process or equipment problems preventing timely product processing. + Identify equipment requiring repair, calibration, and improvement efforts meet or improve equipment performance within process specifications. + Perform process start-up activates. + Perform In-Process inspections for operations performed. Skills Knowledge and Expertise This individual must have the ability to verbally communicate with supervisors and/or fellow employees. + Must be capable of following direction, taking accurate data, reading and following written instruction and asking questions prior to acting when unsure of specific requirements and outcome. + Ability to identify problems, collect data, and follow both written and verbal instructions. + The individual must have good hand and eye coordination to work with small products. + The individual may be required to perform process operations using a microscope for extended periods of time. + The individual may need to stand for extended periods of time to perform process operations. + While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. + Individuals that are designated chemical mixers and hazardous waste handlers must participate in additional training that includes emergency procedures, waste disposal, and chemical handling. + All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without restriction to ITAR documentation and materials. + Must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting hourly pay for this role is targeted to be between $19.50 to $20.50. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
