Position: Sr. Manager, Concept Design & Innovation

A day in the life of a Senior Manager, Concept Design & Innovation at Dickies looks a little like this.
The Senior Manager of Concept Design will work within the Global Design department. This role collaborates closely with product development, marketing, and merchandising teams. The primary responsibility is to lead the concept design strategy, developing innovative and trend-setting product concepts that align with the brand's vision. Additionally, this role oversees the brand archive, ensuring brand history and stories are incorporated into concept designs to maintain brand heritage and authenticity. This position reports to the Vice President of Global Product Design.

Develop and execute a comprehensive concept design strategy that aligns with the brand's vision and business objectives. Provide creative direction and trend visibility to the broader team, ensuring the development of innovative and trend-setting product concepts. Develop and manage an innovation roadmap, including the exploration of innovative fabrics and concepts. Lead trend planning efforts, incorporating global knowledge and insights to stay ahead of industry developments. Collaborate with product development, marketing, and merchandising teams to ensure cohesive and successful product launches. Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify and incorporate relevant trends into concept designs. Ensure all concept designs are commercially viable and meet market demands and customer needs. Present concept designs and strategies to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Develop and implement processes and best practices to streamline concept design operations and improve efficiency. Oversee the brand archivist, ensuring brand history and stories are incorporated into concept designs to maintain brand heritage and authenticity.What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required to have, we are most interested in your 7+ years of experience and professional achievements.

Innovation Roadmap Planning: Ability to develop and manage a strategic innovation roadmap, including the exploration of new fabrics, technologies, and design concepts. Aesthetic Judgment: Strong sense of style and design, with the ability to curate and create visually appealing products. Trend Awareness: Keen awareness of current and emerging fashion trends, with the ability to translate these into commercially viable products. Creative Vision: Ability to envision and execute innovative product concepts that align with the brand's identity and appeal to target customers. Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of product design and development, ensuring high-quality and cohesive product offerings. Visual Communication: Proficiency in visual communication tools and techniques to effectively convey design ideas and concepts. Brand Alignment: Strong understanding of the brand's aesthetic and the ability to maintain consistency across all product lines. Collaborative Creativity: Ability to work collaboratively with design and marketing teams to develop products that meet both creative and commercial goals.There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Educational/ Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Fashion, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in concept design, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry. Proven track record of leading successful concept design initiatives and teams. Strong strategic thinking and creative skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in design software and tools. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools. Creative mindset with the ability to drive innovation in product offerings. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.What do we offer you?

Hiring Range:
$116,640.00 USD - $145,800.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
