Program Summary
KBR provides full-spectrum base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Job Summary
Performs routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire suppression equipment, e.g., Wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, wet chemical systems and carbon dioxide systems
Roles and Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain, repair fire sprinkler and fire suppression systemsPerforms routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire suppression equipment, e.g., Wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, wet chemical systems and carbon dioxide systems.Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes.Read, interpret, and apply system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documentsWork independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting.Performs other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen.High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and pertinent UFC codes.Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshootingMust possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.Must possess driver’s license with at least 1 year of remaining validity.Preferred Qualifications

NICET Certified Level III – Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.NICET Certified Level III – Water-Based Systems Layout (MUST BE WILLING TO BECOME CERTIFIED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF HIRE).EDUCATION:
Must have at least High School diploma is required.Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is highly desired.EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry including:Experience in Fire Sprinkler Field as pipefitter, Journeyman and/or Foreman.Extensive knowledge of various types of Sprinkler Systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, etc.)Experience with the following systems is a plus:Tyco SystemsAnsul SystemsViking SystemsReliable SystemKBR Benefits
