THE POSITION
Are you experienced in diagnosing and repairing various types of equipment? If so, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has an opportunity that may interest you. We are looking for a talented Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic to become part of our vibrant team at Pymatuning State Park. In this essential role, you will help maintain and ensure the efficient operation of our diesel and construction equipment, supporting a range of projects and activities within the park. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment at Pymatuning State Park. This encompasses executing skilled maintenance and repairs on park vehicles, including cars, trucks, tractors, various construction machinery, and mowing equipment. Additionally, you will oversee and guide other automotive and maintenance staff, such as Semi-skilled Laborers and Equipment Operators.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 5 days a week. 7 day/week operation.
+ Weekends and holidays will be required
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Successful completion of the commonwealth’s Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program;or
+ Two years of journey level mechanic experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment, which includes one year of experience in the diagnosis and repair of diesel vehicles or equipment;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
+ This position requires possession of an active Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
+ This position requires an active Pennsylvania Class 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification on the first day of employment .
