Job Summary

STS Technical Services is hiring a Diesel / Industrial Vehicle Mechanic in Ridgeland, South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and quality control of diesel and industrial vehicles within a manufacturing environment. This position requires hands-on experience working with diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems, ensuring all components meet operational and safety standards. As a key part of the production team, you will help maintain an efficient, organized, and safe workspace while contributing to the delivery of high-quality vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities Assemble and manufacture diesel and industrial vehicles following job orders, technical service bulletins, and manufacturer specifications. Conduct pre- and post-assembly inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Install and integrate diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical components, hydraulic systems, and other key vehicle parts. Perform preventive maintenance and routine checks on tools and machinery to support smooth manufacturing operations. Install and align critical vehicle components, including headlights, heaters, wiper motors, belts, seats, windows, brake chambers, and air valves. Conduct wheel alignments and tire installations during the manufacturing process. Adhere to industry safety regulations and company compliance standards while assembling vehicles. Maintain detailed records of the assembly process, materials used, and any issues encountered. Conduct functional tests to verify that completed vehicles meet performance and safety specifications. Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in proper working condition. Required Skills & Abilities Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Experience with diesel engine and industrial vehicle assembly. Proficiency in engine systems, air brakes, electrical, and hydraulics. Ability to read and follow technical manuals, service bulletins, and engineering specifications. Basic computer skills are a plus. Strong focus on safety, precision, and quality control. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in heavy truck repair preferred. 2-4 years of experience in heavy truck maintenance and repair. Working Conditions Work may require long periods outside of a climate-controlled environment. PPE is required while on production floors. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, sit, stand, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Why Join STS Technical Services?
