Job Description

Essential Duties:

Planning and coordinating tasks and activities of company’s fleet auto repair shop, working on gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.Preparing maintenance schedules for motor vehicles and heavy equipment; notifies drivers and operators when maintenance is to be performed.Operating diagnostic equipment to determine repairs that need to be made.Performing repairs and maintenance for company vehicles and equipment.Maintaining database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipment.Overseeing shop inventory, orders parts, shop supplies, and equipment.Ensuring all applicable safety standards and regulations are followed in facility.Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.Assembling mechanical components according to specifications.Designing a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.Offering consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

5-10 years of experience preferred. Must have electrical, hydraulic, AC experience, recycling, and metal industry preferred. High School degree or equivalent.

Language Skills:

Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.

Physical Demands:  

Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.Prolonged periods of walking and standing.Must be able to lift up, push and pull to 40 pounds at a time.Consistently climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.Consistently turning and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs.

Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability Preferences     

Extensive knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine repair.Ability to diagnosed fault codes and computerized equipment.Extensive knowledge of vehicle, truck, and heavy equipment repair.Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.Strong attention to detail.Must be able to successfully complete assignments or tasks with little supervision.Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with coworkers to accomplish all work goals and assigned tasks.Aware of the alarm sound and signals for starting the equipment or systems.Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
