**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** The Auto Mechanic with 2-8 years of experience will respond to service calls daily to repair a variety of trucks and construction vehicles, including hoist distribution trucks, bucket trucks, utility-based trucks, backhoes, front loaders, track trucks, and excavators. The mechanic will receive a company fuel card and truck for site commutes, which may include long distances to locations such as Southern California, Pebble Beach, or Calistoga. This is a very physical job requiring the ability to get up and down on trucks and go underneath them. There are 4 openings available with a 50-hour work week: Mon-Fri 7am-5pm. We are not looking for individuals with HVAC or Shop experience, but rather those with experience in boom trucks. **Hard Skills** + Ariel Line Equipment experience + Auto/Diesel mechanic background + Transmission experience + Basic hand tools + Experience on ERG's (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve) + Experience with 12V or 24V systems **Soft Skills** + Flexibility and willingness to work long hours (overtime) + Attention to detail + Ability to follow instructions + Strong communication skills **Job Type** This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Benicia, California. **Work Environment** These are construction sites throughout California, primarily outdoors, where mechanics must be comfortable working in hot, cold, rainy, or windy weather. Fleet trucks run 24/7, so mechanics may need to respond to nighttime emergencies. Work includes preventative maintenance, major repairs on-site if trucks cannot be brought to the shop, brake changes, working on iron equipment, excavator arms, replacing tracks, and working on booms and cranes. Mechanics will be exposed to high voltage and must wear PPE, including high visibility vests, at all times.
