**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic**
**Job Description**
+ Diesel mechanics are responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of diesel trucks and tractors.
+ This includes understanding the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of the vehicles and performing work accurately and efficiently on a consistent and timely basis.
+ Main duties include preventative maintenance, diagnosing and testing issues, performing effective and timely repairs, changing out parts and equipment, and ensuring downtime remains low.
+ Trucks are used daily and heavily, and mechanics will be exposed to various waste materials.
+ Weld and fabricate as needed
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform preventative maintenance on a fleet of waste management trucks.
+ Diagnose and test mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
+ Perform effective and timely repairs to minimize downtime.
+ Change out parts and equipment as needed.
+ Conduct welding tasks as required.
+ Ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently.
+ Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
+ 2+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics of vehicles.
+ Experience with diagnostic testing and repair of diesel trucks.
+ Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
+ Proficiency in preventative maintenance.
+ Ability to perform welding tasks.
