Handles more complex problems and can resolve independently. This individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with employees and customers. Particular attention will be on timeliness and quality of repairs. All work is to be performed with a commitment to safety. Responsibilities: Diagnose and accurately perform all phases of vehicle repairRemove, clean, repair, reinstall and adjust vehicle componentsEngine repair and diagnosisEngine emission componentsDriveline componentsElectrical / electronic componentsBrakes / suspension / steering / exhaustCab / chassisHydraulicsVarious Scan tool proficientEnsure work orders are properly completedSelect appropriate course of action for repairsEvaluate completed work prior to releaseEnsure safe use of power and hand-held toolsPerform road calls and emergency services as necessaryMoves vehicles safely between job and work areaCommunicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisorsActively participates in safety or educational training as requiredContinuous ASE re-certification is required to remain in job classificationMaintain an organized shop and clean work environmentRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobMaking sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customersPossess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintained in a clean and safe mannerOther duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Must have a valid driver’s license. Class B CDL preferred but will train (will be expected within 3 months of start of training) ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASE certifications within 12 months of hire Advanced mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experienceAdhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standardsTransdev US is the largest private sector operator of multiple modes of transit in the United States, providing bus, rail, paratransit, shuttle, sedan and taxi services.
