**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards. The successful candidate will run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals. **Responsibilities** + Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and buses + Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes + Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop + Collaborate with the repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs + Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks + Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles **Essential Skills** + 1 - 3 years of experience working as a Mechanic + Experience with diagnostic and repair of engines + Experience with cooling and analog systems + Diesel Mechanic or auto mechanic experience + Experience working with Cooling and Analog systems + Must be able to obtain SIDA Badge for the Airport **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + CDL License (not required but a plus) + Cummins Engine experience preferred + Experience with electrical systems, troubleshooting, and power generation equipment repair **Why Work Here?** Once you become a permanent employee, you will join the Union and receive full benefits including Medical, Vision, and Dental. The culture is laid back with a strong emphasis on teamwork. You will be provided with steel-toed boots and a company uniform. Shift options include M-F, Tue-Sat, or Sun-Thurs with the following hours: 1st Shift (7am - 3:30pm), 2nd Shift (2pm - 10:30pm), and 3rd Shift (10pm - 6:30am). **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jamaica, New York. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
