**Diesel Mechanic** Currently hiring a diesel mechanic in the Minooka, IL area. Hiring immediately. **Shift:** All shifts available. 1st shift (6 AM-2:30 PM) 2nd shift (2 PM-10:30 PM) 3rd shift (10 PM-6:30 AM) **Job Description** + Your responsibilities will include preventive maintenance tasks, engine work, welding, and diagnostics using laptops and internal software. + Perform preventative and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers. + Conduct preventive maintenance including lube, filters, interior/exterior cab, tire inspection, oil changes, wheel seals, etc. + Perform engine work including replacing alternators/starters, drive cams, brakes, springs, differentiators, alignment, S-Cams, U-Joints, etc. + Conduct MIG/Stick welding as needed (e.g., weld on mud-flaps, brackets). + Use a torch and grinder as needed. + Utilize a laptop to hook up to engines for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues. + Track work through internal Transman (TMT) software. **Additional Skills & Qualifications:** + 5+ years of experience performing maintenance on semis, tractors, trailers, or farming equipment (or applicable schooling). + Ability to troubleshoot equipment via laptop. + Experience working with clutches, brakes, wheel seals, and suspension. + Ability to MIG/Stick Weld. + Experience with electrical systems. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
