**Diesel Mechanic**
**1st shift schedule from 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The body shop technician will be responsible for performing bumper-to-bumper repairs and maintenance on diesel trucks, including Volvo trucks and vehicles with Cummins and MAC engines. This role involves engine overhauls (excluding engine rebuilds), transmission repairs, and hands-on mechanical work.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform bumper-to-bumper repairs and maintenance on diesel trucks, including Volvo trucks and vehicles with Cummins and MAC engines.
+ Conduct engine overhauls (excluding engine rebuilds).
+ Carry out transmission repairs.
+ Engage in hands-on mechanical work.
+ Inspect, repair, and diagnose issues with diesel trucks.
+ Work with diesel engines, diesel repair, diesel maintenance, and hydraulics.
+ Train newer technicians as needed.
+ Take an online course regarding Volvo software and repairs if not Volvo certified.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with diesel engines, diesel repair, and diesel maintenance.
+ Knowledge of Volvo and MAC trucks.
+ Ability to inspect, repair, and diagnose diesel trucks.
+ Understanding of hydraulics.
+ 3+ years of experience preferred.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ No specific education required.
+ No certifications required.
+ Diesel apprenticeship or program experience would be beneficial.
+ Must be punctual, have a positive attitude, be willing to learn, and ask questions when unsure.

**Work Environment**
The position is based in a small shop environment with 4 diesel technicians, 1 shop manager, a few administrative/customer service personnel, and some salespeople. The shop operates on a 1st shift schedule from 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekend work. The shop is clean and temperature-controlled.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tifton, Georgia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00
