**Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and servicing our fleet of trash trucks, ensuring they are running smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a high level of expertise in working with diesel trucks and hydraulic systems. **Responsibilities** + Repair and service trash trucks from bumper to bumper. + Perform maintenance on site and make service calls to trucks at various locations. + Ensure trucks are running smoothly and efficiently. + Diagnose and fix issues with diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, Peterbilt engines, and ISS motors. **Essential Skills** + Multiple years of experience working on diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, Peterbilt engines, and ISS motors. + Ability to perform bumper-to-bumper repairs on garbage trucks. + Proficiency in reading and writing in English. + 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + CDL license or willingness to obtain one. + Relevant certifications and training are a plus. + Experience within the garbage maintenance truck industry is highly preferred. + Ability to bring own tools and toolbox. **Why Work Here?** We offer yearly tech and trade training courses with certifications, free CDL classes, a 401K with employer match, full medical insurance, an employee stock purchase plan, and employee discount programs. The work environment involves dealing with the dirtiness of garbage trucks, including smells, trash, dirt, and garbage. During the summer, conditions can become extremely dirty, with potential exposure to flies and maggots. Candidates must be prepared to handle these conditions. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $43.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
