**Job Title: Mechanic**
**Pay: $30-40/hour**
**Job Description**
This role involves identifying and providing solutions to equipment malfunctions and failures through inspection, diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, and preparation of equipment both in-house and in the field. You will work with heavy-duty off-highway transmissions, axles, and components from vendors such as Twin Disc, ZF, Funk, Clark, AxleTech, Wichita, Eaton, Murphy, and Carraro. The company is largely involved in the repair and overhaul of large marine vessels, including tugs and large fishing vessels.
**Responsibilities**
+ Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions and failures.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
+ Convert transmissions from manual to automatic.
+ Work on telehandlers, skidders, transmissions, rear ends, and engine rebuilds.
+ Handle large scale gearboxes and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
+ Work on excavators and Caterpillar equipment.
+ Perform electrical diagnosis and repair.

+ Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
+ Knowledge of basic hydraulic principles
+ Knowledge of DC current and electronic fundamentals
+ Demonstrated knowledge of failure analysis and diagnostic equipment
+ Ability to read and understand assembly manuals, drawings, and schematics
+ Good physical condition with the ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 consecutive hours
+ Dexterity and agility for climbing around and repairing equipment
+ Strong customer service orientation with a sense of urgency
+ Experience with marine equipment (preferred)
+ 3-5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience (preferred)
+ 3-5 years of diesel tech experience
+ Experience with Deutz and Isuzu lines (preferred)
+ Vocational training or military mechanic training

**Work Environment**
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6am-4pm (hours may vary by 1 hour). Work in a newer shop on heavy equipment ranging from construction to marine equipment. The smaller team environment requires candidates to be a good team fit.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sumner, Washington.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00
