Job Title: Diesel Mechanic $40-50/hr

Job Description

Seeking a Diesel Mechanic to primarily work in the field servicing and repairing Heavy Earth Moving Equipment, mainly Komatsu. This includes equipment such as Excavators, Haul Trucks, Dozers, Skids, Wheel Loaders, Scrapers, and Tractors. The role involves taking a service vehicle into the field to perform these tasks.

ResponsibilitiesService and repair heavy earth moving equipment, mainly Komatsu.Communicate with the manager to make decisions.Communicate with parts stores to obtain the correct parts for repairs.Be flexible to move from job site to job site as needed.Perform maintenance tasks within 20-30 minutes of Blair, NE.Conduct pump rebuilds, undercarriages, electrical and hydraulic diagnosis, and maintenance.Service and repair 6 skid loaders, 7 Komatsu Excavators, 1 wheel loader, and 3 semis.Repair and rebuild heavy equipment attachments.Perform preventative maintenance and regular equipment inspections.Oversee fleet maintenance mechanic responsible for servicing and light repair on a fleet of 40+ pickup trucks.Potentially work on Hydrovac trucks in emergency situations.Essential SkillsDiesel troubleshootingRepair of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systemsPreventive maintenanceBrake systemsDiesel engine repairTruck maintenanceWeldingFleet maintenanceDiagnosisUse of hand toolsHeavy equipment maintenanceExperience with Caterpillar (CAT) and Komatsu equipmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsFully capable of self-performing routine maintenance and repairsMust have own hand tools and tool boxTruck will be providedWhy Work Here?

Work primarily on large commercial construction sites where earth is being moved. Approximately 20% of the work will be performed in a shop setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
