**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **2x Openings on 3rd Shift: either 4:30pm to 2:30am or 6:30pm to 4:30am (ROTATING SCHEDULE)** **Pay Rate: $26-$33/Hr.** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with 2-3 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing major repairs, including engine and transmission overhauls, accident damage repairs, and preventative maintenance in our transportation truck shop. You will ensure the functionality and operational efficiency of our transportation fleet, including refrigeration equipment and trailer components. **Responsibilities** + Perform major repairs on engines, transmissions, and accident-damaged vehicles. + Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including changing brakes, oils, and lights. + Rebuild major components and read and interpret shop materials. + Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment as needed. + Repair structural damage to trailers and internal components. + Perform welding functions when required. + Conduct basic service line functions, such as checking air pressure and changing lights. + Perform minor tune-ups. + Solve electrical, brake, and compressor preventive maintenance issues. + Work well within a team and collaborate with other mechanics and staff. **Why Work Here?** We offer comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits. You will experience both busy and slow days, often influenced by weather and other external factors. The shop is indoors but will expose you to the elements as the garage doors are usually open for incoming and outbound trucks. You will be working with a team of about 5-6 other diesel technicians. Be prepared for occasional road maintenance and pick-up tasks. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GREENCASTLE, Pennsylvania. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
