**DESCRIPTION** We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Grand Rapids, MI and will make an impact in the following ways: + Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop + Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools + Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles + Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies + Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products + Maintain own tools **RESPONSIBILITIES** In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: + Completes complex internal engine repairs + Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls + Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools + Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components + Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation **QUALIFICATIONS** This is a 3rd shift in shop technician role. Third shift is structured as four 10 hour shifts that runs from 9pm to 7am Monday evening through Friday morning. This is a CBA site within the Michigan Main IAM. Previous heavy duty and midrange Cummins engine overhaul experience is preferred. - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements.
