Diesel Technician III
Diesel Technician III CDL Required with Airbrake Endorsement Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Installs equipment, engines, hoses, batteries, tires, wheels/brakes, HVAC, wiring, etc., or programs to meet specifications. Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly. Service, repairs, adjusts, and tests machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles. Inspectsequipment, structures, etc., of materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Analyzesinformation and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Transdev is proud to offer: + Starting Wage $30.90/hr + Flexible hours between M-F 6am-4:30pm + ASE certification bonus' + Company-paid ASE testing and training materials + Consistent full-time, year-round work + An excellent benefits package including medical, vision, and dental coverage, and 401(k) savings plan + Paid Holidays & Vacation + Ongoing company training on state-of-the-art online system + Opportunities for career advancement nationwide. + A great work environment DUTIES: + Adjustand reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment. + Alignfront ends and suspension systems. + Attachtest instruments to equipment and read dials and gauges in order to diagnose malfunctions. + Disassembleand overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units. + Examineand adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices. + Inspect,test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges. + Operatevalve-grinding machines to grind and reset valves. + Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. + Installs or rebuilds diesel engines. + Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves. + Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels. + Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems. + Test drive trucks and buses to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. + Other duties to ensure the safe operation and efficiency of the department. REQUIREMENTS: + The Mechanic A must possess a CDL license with air brakes and a passenger endorsement, 609 and 608 air conditioning certifications and at least four (4) H, T, or EV series ASE certifications. + 5+ years’ experience + Diesel Coach Bus experience + Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair the most difficult of all vehicle and equipment service. + Must be able to teach Mechanic B and C as time permits, more complex repair techniques. + Mustdemonstrate superior mechanical skills and mentoring capabilities. + Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair the most difficult of all vehicles and equipment in service. + Must be able to teach Mechanic B and Cs, as time permits, more complex repair techniques. + Must demonstrate superior customer service skills and mentoring capabilities as well as perform other duties to ensure the safe operation and efficiency of the department. + ASECertification is the preferred method of hiring and promotion. + In lieu of ASE Certifications an A Tech must have four (4) years of full-time heavy-duty vehicle maintenance + Experience and pass a practical test demonstrating A Tech proficiency.
