Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Dietary Department manager, the Diet Aide performs a wide variety of routine tasks in all food service areas. The incumbent will be responsible for essential duties including the reheating and serving of food trays to the patient units; working the tray line; serving employees and patients in the dining room, and other general cleaning tasks within the Dietary Department.

Shift: Day/Evening: 3:30pm - 7:30pmPart Time (15.00hrs.)Position requires weekday and weekend workEssential Functions:
Assemble patient trays accurately and neatlyAssist in assembling food trays and deliver to patient units as requiredProvide assistance during the preparation, and assembling of additional items for tray-line, as neededCheck food items for proper datesEnsure proper levels of food to avoid shortages before serving beginsMaintain food at the correct temperature to follow safety protocolsManage the stocking of the area when the work shift is completed; put stock and supplies away in proper areasOperate and clean equipment, such as refrigerators, steam tables, coffee machines, etc.Wash pots, pans, and other small cooking equipment by hand utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agentWash dishes and/or utensils according to acceptable standards of practiceEnsure compliance with sanitationSweep and mop floors utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agentPerform a variety of routine kitchen duties as assignedChoosing RWJBarnabas Health!
