The Diet aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department as it relates to meals, nourishments and supplements. Duties and Responsibilities: May include all or part of the following but not limited to: + Perform defined work using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor. + Meet scheduled meal and snack times. + Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals. + Follow Federal, State and local long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures. + Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled. + Set dining rooms for resident service. + Serve meals. + Stock pantry and cupboards with dishware and food items as per par levels. + Attend in-service educational programs. + Perform other duties as assigned by Dietary Supervisor. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience in dietary service is preferred. Ability to read and understand recipe directions, diet orders, tallies and work assignments. This position will show a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
