**Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is currently looking to hire a Diet Control Assistant for their client in Newark, NJ location .** Job Type -Temp to Hire Shift Hours – Flexible to work any 8hrs shifts from 6:30am - 3:00pm or 10:30am - 7:00pm (M-F), every weekend required , the weekend you work two days week off . Pay – 21.19/HR **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Care provided is patient centered. ? Actively contributes to creating a friendly, welcoming and safe environment for UH customers. + Maintains electronic patient card files. + Modifies menu to comply with diet order prescriptions/meal patterns. + Formulates patient meal supplements and nourishments. + Delivers meals and snacks per policy and procedures. Retrieves patient meal trays per policy and procedure. Utilizes knowledge of growth and development when providing services to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. + Communicates with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in a manner which demonstrates an understanding of the patient’s developmental and cognitive level. + Conducts meal rounds. + Answers department telephone. + Calculates production requirements for meals, including tallied items. + Maintains sanitation standards for work area in keeping with Federal, State and Local Health Codes. + Understands and adheres to University Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in University Hospital’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. + Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and University Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. + Performs other related duties as assigned. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** + High School Diploma or GED Certificate required. + At least one (1) or more years of Food Service, Customer Service, and/or hospitality experience required. + Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently to perform the duties of the position required. Act as a liaison between the patient unit(s) and the Department of Food and Nutrition. + Effective verbal and written communications. Customer service and hospitality- oriented. Attention to detail with appropriate follow through. Ability to work effectively as a team member.
