Organizing the Diet Office:
Oversee the smooth functioning of the office operations.Ensure all meal orders are processed efficiently.Coordinate with different departments to meet patient dietary needs.Diet Order Communications:
Communicate diet orders accurately to the kitchen staff.Ensure dietary specifications (e.g., low sodium, gluten-free, diabetic, etc.) are understood and followed.Address any discrepancies or issues with diet orders as they arise.Dietary Clerical Work:
Handle administrative duties related to patient diets.Maintain accurate records of patient diets and preferences.Perform data entry and potentially process diet requests or modifications.Incoming Communication:
Manage incoming calls, emails, or inquiries related to diet orders.Respond to questions from patients, staff, or external partners regarding diet plans and meal specifications.Education and Qualifications:Minimum Requirement:High School Diploma or equivalent.Desirable Qualification:Vocational training in special diets, which may include:Knowledge of dietary restrictions (e.g., food allergies, low-fat, vegan, etc.)Understanding nutrition for specific health conditions (e.g., heart disease, diabetes, renal disease, etc.)Food safety and handling certifications.Work Schedule:12-hour shifts (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.) with alternating weekends required. This schedule ensures continuous coverage for patient dietary needs.Skills and Abilities:Attention to Detail: Ensuring that dietary orders are followed exactly as prescribed.Communication Skills: Clear communication with kitchen staff, healthcare team, and patients.Organizational Skills: Efficiently handling multiple tasks and meal orders.Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing and resolving issues with diet orders or patient needs.Customer Service: Interacting positively with patients and staff, answering inquiries, and offering support when needed.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
