We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** As a Dietary Technician, you will perform a variety of clerical tasks related to maintaining accurate patient diet orders and preparation of the patient meal orders. As a part of the healthcare team, you will communicate with hospital personnel to achieve the overall objectives of the Food service department. + You will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining current patient diet information. + You will enter current diet orders from the hospital computer system into to the food service diet office management system in a timely manner + You will be responsible for accurate and timely preparation of each patient’s menus + You will answer calls from nursing and other hospital personnel and communicates necessary information to appropriate staff + You will be responsible for excellent phone etiquette with all callers including patients, family members, nursing, doctors, and other hospital personnel **What qualifications you will need:** Experience + 3 years of experience in food service in a healthcare setting + 1 year of experience in healthcare institution as Diet Technician – preferred Education + High School Diploma or GED equivalent + Associates degree in Nutrition – preferred Licenses and Certifications + Current ServSafe Food Handler Permit, Travis/Williamsons County Health Department Food Handler Card or State Food Safety permit within 7 days of hire St. David's Medical Center (https://stdavids.com/location/st-davids-medical-center) stands as a leading 435-bed facility, offering specialized care in neurology, neurosurgery, cardiac services, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, maternity and newborn services, and rehabilitation.
