Contract Type Classified Hourly If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement Following an integrated, collaborative model, Student Wellness unites the components of the health and well-being for MSU students including prevention, health promotion, public health, medical services, dental services, recreational sports and fitness, and counseling & psychological services. Duties and Responsibilities Functions as a clinical registered dietitian nutritionist providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling (primary and preventative) to MSU students. Coordinates care and facilitates referrals to other members of the healthcare team and higher levels of care when necessary. Collaborates with Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Office of Health Advancement staff, and Dean of Students Office using interdisciplinary treatment approach for students with a variety of medical concerns. Participates as a member of our on campus eating disorders team. Partner and consult with campus dining services on promotion and outreach to students with nutrition concerns. Develop and present nutrition education programs for classes, residence halls and student organizations using a variety of instructional methods and communications media. Coordinate collaborative nutritional programming and interdisciplinary projects with various campus departments. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). This requires a bachelor’s degree, a dietetic internship, and passing of the national exam through CDR. Continuing Education hours are required. This individual must be licensed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the State of Montana. One year of clinical nutrition and counseling experience. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience working from a Health at Every Size framework with competency in intuitive eating principles and mindfulness. Experience using motivational interviewing and other evidenced based counseling strategies. Strong communication skills and experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated competency with multicultural and other populations. Experience working with college students and young adults. The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate respect and value for continually supporting, promoting and building a whole community and a commitment to ongoing multicultural competency. Work effectively with people of many backgrounds. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, students, and parents. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate the capacity to work autonomously while also engaging in collaborative team efforts. Complete documentation in a timely manner in accordance with department policies and ethical standards. Maintain confidentiality of records and information. Use computer programs, including an electronic medical record, and office equipment to complete job duties and assist in department functioning. Position Special Requirements/Additional Information Must be a Registered Dietitian (RDN) and licensed by the State of Montana.
