Dignity Health Medical Group – Stockton a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation is a multi-specialty clinic with three locations in Stockton California. Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospital (St. Joseph’s Medical Center) we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides primary care for family medicine and internal medicine gastroenterology neurology colon and rectal surgery urology general surgery psychiatry and radiation oncology.

As a Dietitian in the Stockton clinics of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you will work hand in hand with our Endocrinologist, Gastroenterology and Primary Care providers to assist with the nutrition for ambulatory patients who have chronic conditions such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, congestive heart failure (low sodium diets), obesity, stomach conditions and more. This will include combining knowledge of nutrition, diet therapy, psychology, health and wellness management and marketing to plan, implement, and evaluate services for nutrition education and counseling. In addition, this role may have the opportunity to develop group classes that can help patients better manage their nutrition.Why CommonSpirit Health? Success in this role means you:
- Assess the patient for nutrition counseling and make appropriate selection of counseling techniques and processes.
- Plan, develop and deliver curriculum for health education programs.
- Apply adult learning techniques to one-on-one patients and groups in a class setting.
- Establish an environment conducive to behavior change and transfer of education, while working with management and education assistants to ensure sufficient and appropriate resources and space.
- Partner with, and convey confidential patient information back to, the referring physician.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in dietetics or nutrition from an accredited college or university.
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Effective listening and verbal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals as well as groups.
- Ability to perform skin fold measurement and blood glucose monitoring required.
- Knowledge of age and gender specific characteristics.
- Must be able to apply adult learning principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with g-tube management is preferred.
- Previous experience with medical information systems and work processing desirable.
- Knowledge of nutrition for a variety of health conditions preferred.
- Experience in community/ambulatory clinics a plus.
