Dietitian at Providence Portland Medical Center & Providence St. Vincent's Medical Center- Full-Time, Day Schedule

This position is a float/traveling position that oversees and supports inpatient care at two hospitals.

$7,000 hiring/sign-on bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Growth opportunities to advance to a Sr. Dietitian in this department

The Dietitian works closely with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide inpatient  care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses, performs nutrition-focused physical examination, interprets results and makes nutrition diagnoses, orders nutrition and diet orders, designs and implement nutrition care plans and evaluate outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients who are at nutrition risk or malnourished. Provides medical nutrition therapy and professional nutrition counseling methods to patients, families and the community.

Applies evidence-based practice guidelines, instructional methods and tools in clinical practice. Utilizes nutrition-related information systems and patient medical record systems to successfully coordinate patient nutrition care and dining experiences.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Dietetics, foods and nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent. Master's degree is only required for those entering the workforce after 1/1/2024 as a Dietitian. Coursework/Training: Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration. Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Oregon Dietitian License. Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Dietitian license in state of hire AND wherever care is delivered.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year Clinical settings.
