Purpose
The Clements Center for National Security is seeking a Digital and Technical Manager to oversee all technical and digital aspects of the Texas National Security Review (TNSR) journal and the Horns of a Dilemma podcast. This role will manage the print and online editions of TNSR, ensure consistent and engaging social media and web presence, and coordinate the production, editing, and promotion of the accompanying podcast. The successful candidate will be a technically savvy project manager capable of overseeing all digital content and coordinating publication timelines to ensure the highest quality in national security discourse.

Responsibilities
Website and Email Account Management: Maintain and update the TNSR website, ensuring content is current and engaging. Handle troubleshooting and technical support for the site, optimize the user experience, and work with the editorial team to implement updates. Manage TNSR email accounts, including responding to inquiries received through the "Contact Us" page on the website.
Social Media Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for TNSR and the Horns of a Dilemma podcast to promote content, engage with readers and listeners, and expand the audience. This includes overseeing daily posts, monitoring engagement, and collaborating with the editorial team and authors/ speakers to align messaging.
Newsletter Management: Oversee the TNSR email newsletter via Mailchimp, including drafting, editing, and scheduling campaigns to promote new content and engage subscribers.
Podcast Production: Oversee the technical aspects of Horns of a Dilemma, including recording, editing, uploading, and distributing episodes. Work with external guests and the internal team to schedule recordings, ensure high-quality audio, and publish episodes on various platforms (e.g., Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google, etc.).
Content Coordination: Work with authors, editors, and contributors to ensure that digital content (articles, podcasts, newsletters) is published in a timely manner multiple times across all platforms. Develop and maintain a content calendar for articles, podcasts, and promotional efforts, ensuring deadlines are met and content is published on time across platforms.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to the editorial and communications teams regarding digital tools, content management systems (CMS), podcast hosting platforms, and any other relevant software or systems.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., communications, digital media, marketing, or technical management).
5 years of experience managing digital content, websites, or social media for a journal, publication, or podcast.
Experience with website management, including proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), SEO.
Experience with social media management and digital marketing.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Familiarity with audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition) and podcast production processes.
Experience coordinating print publications and working with printers.
Proficiency with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, podcast hosting metrics, and social media tracking platforms.
Experience with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for promotional graphics.
Preferred Qualifications
More than 5 years of experience managing digital content, websites, or social media for a journal, publication, or podcast.
Familiarity with national security, foreign policy, or academic publishing.
Experience with publication design and layout.
Salary
$65,000 + negotiable depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions.
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Occasional overtime during peak periods.
