Under general direction, the Digital Communications Specialist supports the communication functions of the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions and its four schools. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and deploying high-impact social media, email, web and digital-screen content aimed at elevating awareness, building trust, driving enrollment outcomes, managing reputation and strategically enhancing online presence. A successful candidate for this position is a creative communicator skilled in digital marketing and social media strategy concepts, with excellent customer service instincts and a talent for copywriting, graphic design and video editing.

Employment is contingent upon successful passing of the background check.OpenActivities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and two (2) years of related experience: OR, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Demonstrated experience in writing and editing online content.
