OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 13 Seattle is seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Producer of Streaming News & Content to oversee and manage the live, on-demand, and breaking news content across our streaming platforms, including the FOX LOCAL connected TV (CTV) app and the livestream. This role requires a blend of editorial expertise, technical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving news environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital news production, be adept at curating content for streaming audiences, and excel at delivering breaking news hits in a live-streaming format.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Management & Curation:
Oversee the daily programming of FOX 13 Seattle’s streaming channels on the FOX LOCAL connected TV (CTV) platform, including Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Curate, schedule, and update content to ensure viewers receive timely, engaging, and relevant news coverage.Coordinate with editorial, production, and technical teams to ensure smooth integration of breaking news stories into the streaming lineup.Ensure content is optimized for various platforms (CTV, mobile, desktop) and meets FOX 13’s brand standards and editorial guidelines.Maintain up-to-date news streams and archives for easy access by viewers.Breaking News Production:
Lead the production of breaking news hits for the live desk, ensuring seamless coverage during developing stories.Work with on-air talent, reporters, and technical staff to produce high-quality live reports that engage the streaming audience.Write, edit, and deliver compelling, concise, and accurate live updates.Be prepared to respond quickly to breaking news events and manage live production under tight deadlines.Collaborate with Digital and Broadcast Teams:
Work closely with the digital content team to ensure alignment between streaming content, social media, and traditional broadcast offerings.Coordinate with other producers and editorial staff to ensure cross-platform continuity and consistency of news coverage.Collaborate with the technical team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to streaming performance or content delivery.Audience Engagement & Performance Monitoring:
Monitor streaming performance and viewer feedback to refine content strategies.Track metrics to assess viewer engagement and content popularity, adjusting content programming accordingly.Respond to feedback from viewers and stakeholders to improve the overall viewer experience.Technical & Operational Oversight:
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends in streaming technology and digital news delivery.Work with technical teams to troubleshoot and improve streaming workflows, ensuring a seamless viewing experience for all users.Ensure compliance with copyright, licensing, and other legal requirements regarding streaming content.

Qualifications:

Experience:3+ years of experience in broadcast or digital news production, including live streaming, digital platforms, or connected TV.Proven experience producing live news content, especially in breaking news situations.Familiarity with streaming technologies, video encoding, and CTV platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.Skills & Abilities:Strong editorial judgment, writing, and copy editing skills.Ability to work under tight deadlines, often managing multiple live production elements at once.Understanding of digital audience metrics and the ability to adapt content to optimize viewer engagement.Strong technical aptitude, with experience using production tools, content management systems, and live-streaming technologies.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and departments.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

The news is a 24/7 world. We will work with you on a regular working schedule which will include weekends and weekday shifts.All members of our news team must have flexibility to occasionally work different shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for breaking news coverage and/or to fulfill minimum staffing requirements.Ability to adapt quickly to changes in editorial direction or technology.Must be a team player with a passion for storytelling and news coverage.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $70,000.00-80,000.00 annually for Washington. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
