About the Role

**Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term contract.

As a knowledge lawyer in the Lexis+® UK Corporate Crime content team, you will be joining a team of experienced UK criminal lawyers specialising in corporate crime and criminal law in England and Wales. Together, you will write, edit and update a suite of practical know-how content relied on by customers in the UK legal sector daily as they advise on corporate crime cases in England and Wales including criminal investigations, criminal prosecutions, appeals against conviction and sentence and the recovery of the proceeds of crime arising from a range of business-related criminal offences (such as bribery, money laundering and regulatory offences) as well as some non-business-related criminal offences (such as drugs offences, sexual offences, road traffic offences and offences against the person and property).  

Responsibilities

Assist with writing, editing and updating content for the Lexis+® UK Corporate Crime practical guidance module which includes legal guidance notes, checklists, flowcharts, Q&As and related materials.

Monitoring developments relevant to our customer base.

Providing high-quality news and analysis tailored to meet the needs and expectations of corporate crime lawyers in the UK.

Engaging with customers and UK legal market contacts to understand their needs and stay updated on the latest UK developments and market trends.

Assisting with customer questions and feedback.

Working proactively with over 30 other Lexis+® UK practice areas and the wider business.

Requirements

Admitted attorney

Possess good knowledge of criminal litigation and practice in South Africa (as a background to writing and editing content on UK corporate crime law and practice).  Experience or knowledge of UK criminal law and procedure is useful but not essential

Have gained experience in criminal law and practice at a leading private practice law firm or in-house legal department in South Africa.

Possess the ability to write in a clear and concise manner, communicating complex legal concepts and their practical application.

Maintain strong attention to detail, particularly in legal content review.

Have excellent research, organisation and planning skills, and a solid drive and ability to meet difficult objectives and deliverables.

Take responsibility for continually developing and expanding your areas of expertise, skills and knowledge.
