Job Description

The position is responsible for designing and troubleshooting peripheral circuitry or digital interfaces for FPGA and/or micro-controller systems. The ideal candidate will document designs, provide proof of concept through simulations or evaluation boards, and support schematic capture and board layout. Additionally, the role involves post-layout signal integrity simulations, system integration, and testing, as well as supporting production test procedures and maintaining design schedules for high-volume manufacturability.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and troubleshoot peripheral circuitry or digital interfaces for FPGA and/or micro-controller systems.Document the design with digital interface for system architecture and design specifications.Provide proof of concept through simulations and/or bread or evaluation boards as needed.Support schematic capture and board layout for FPGA, microprocessors, and their peripheral circuitry or digital interfaces.Conduct post-layout signal integrity simulations on high-speed digital interfaces within or between modules.Support system integration and system/acceptance testing for digital interface functions, including troubleshooting and analysis.Develop and support test procedures and repair procedures for production.Design with cost and schedule considerations for high-volume manufacturability.Support qualification and reliability analysis and testing.Essential SkillsExperience with i2c, spi, Xilinx, and Altera.Proficiency in digital signaling including TTL, LVTTL, CMOS, LVCMOS, PECL, LVPECL, and LVDS.Expertise in DDR4, flash memory, and digital interfaces including SPI, I2C, JTAG, and CAN bus.Familiarity with serial port scripting, C or C++ language, and Python.Experienced in using digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies.Knowledgeable in Matlab, Mentor Graphics Xpedition, and DSP and wireless communication theory.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in system design of FPGA, Microprocessor, and CPLD.Ability to support system integration and system/acceptance testing.Familiarity with signal integrity simulations and high-speed digital interfaces.Experience in qualification and reliability analysis and testing.Work Environment

The work environment involves working with advanced digital hardware design tools and technologies. The role requires a strong understanding of digital signaling and interfaces, and the use of various testing equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. The position involves collaborative work in system integration and testing, and requires attention to detail in documenting designs and supporting production processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
