In 2020 united in a fierce commitment to deliver the highest quality care and exceptional patient experience Virginia Mason and CHI Franciscan Health came together as natural partners to build a new health system centered around the patient: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. Our combined system builds upon the scale and expertise of our nearly 300 sites of care including 11 hospitals and nearly 5000 physicians and providers. Together we are empowered to make an even greater impact on the health and well-being of our communities.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the efficient and timely treatment of inpatients, outpatients, and organizational efficiency by ensuring the patient's relevant previous imaging (Xray, CT, MR, US and fluoroscopy) are quickly and efficiently obtained from sister institutions within VMFH (Virginia Mason Franciscan Health) and from other hospitals outside of VMFH. This will allow for efficient and timely care of the patient and to prevent waste in terms of time, effort, and expense by having to repeat imaging because the previous imaging and results could not be obtained. Work involves communications with internal/external providers and their clinical support teams, technologists and nursing staff, external healthcare facilities and legal representatives.
An incumbent performs, within scope of position, the digital storage, retrieval, organization and presentation of VMFH
imaging health information by utilizing the current Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Work also includes facilitating the electronic transfer of all Radiology digital imaging and diagnostic reports by importing imaging records from other medical facilities into the VMFH’s RIS, PACS and EMR systems. An incumbent also accurately processes and facilitates the transfer and exportation of all requested records to external stakeholders.
Work is performed in a fast-paced and high volume environment and in compliance with VMFH policies/guidelines and all Federal and State release of information regulations including HIPAA (Federal) and the Washington State Health Information
Act.
