Job DescriptionWe are seeking an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded technically oriented skill set to join the Digital Investigation & Discovery (DI&D) team as a summer Intern. The ideal person for this role will be a flexible strategic thinker with a desire to learn data analytics, cyber-security, digital forensics, and electronic data management, which includes advanced data collection and analysis techniques.
As an Intern on the DI&D team, you will be expected to take on a variety tasks within the identified service lines, which will both leverage and challenge your existing capabilities and experience. The successful candidate will be capable of establishing a solid understanding of overall objectives and applying their knowledge to help develop and execute thoughtful solutions to address our client’s needs.
Job Responsibilities
Using industry accepted tools/practices to perform the preservation electronically stored information (“ESI”) and validating preservation.Perform investigative analysis on digital devices or electronic data using forensic tools such as EnCase, Axiom, Cellebrite Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Inspector to carry out an investigation.Secure transfer of physical and electronic evidence while maintaining chain of custodyFollows best practices for client deliverables by performing quality control checks to ensure accuracy of client work product.Execute on projects involving the identification, collection, processing, review, and production of electronic data relevant to security and regulatory investigationsCreate, prepare, and validate analyses, reports, presentations, and other deliverables regarding project scope and results of work performedEngage daily with client activities, including interaction with client, internal J.S. Held team, and other stakeholders involved with engagement.Taking ownership of projects and tasks with minimal supervision and providing engagement updates to clients or team leads on a regular occurrence.QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Demonstrated coursework in Information Technology, Information System, Computer Science, or a related field.Understanding of operating systems such as Windows and MacOS. Linux and UNIX experience is a plus.Strong understanding of ESI hardware such as laptops, desktops, servers, mobile phone and tablets.Experience with cloud-based collaborative/data repositories such as M365, Google Workspace, Drobox, Box, Slack, JiraProgramming languages such as SQL, VBA and Python knowledge is a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPhysical and Mental Job Qualifications

Our flexible work environment allows employees to work remotely, when neededA reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $24 - $26 per hour.
