Clear and compelling communication related to the work performed by the department is critical to ensuring consistent, productive interactions with our internal and external audiences. The digital marketing specialist plays a pivotal role in this work by coordinating the development and effective delivery of print and digital content assets under the direction of the communications director. This includes, but is not limited to, the DOC’s social media accounts, websites, and print collateral. The individual in this position must possess excellent communication skills; demonstrate strong attention to detail; be deadline focused; be a self-starter; and able to adapt to a constantly evolving work environment. *Essential Functions (Major Duties or Responsibilities):* * * _Print and Digital Media – 60%_ * Develops content and design for digital materials including, but not limited to, social media posts, videos, PowerPoint presentations__ * Develops content and design for print materials including, but not limited to brochures, fact sheets, biennial reports, quarterly updates, etc.__ * Manages the DOC brand and brand assets such as the department’s brand guide, letterhead, business cards, etc.__ * Manages promotional items on behalf of the department (design, ordering, delivery)__ * Photography__ * Must be proficient in using Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience using Canva is beneficial.__ _ Website coordination and maintenance – 30%_ * Designs, builds, maintains, administers, DOC’s internal and external websites with a focus on effective, efficient usability and accessibility compliance (ADA and state of Montana standards).__ * Performs website editorial activities including gathering and researching information to enhance the sites. * Keeps apprised of state standard content management software updates and features. Conducts trainings as needed, trains new staff, and provides ongoing technical support to staff. * Adheres to state of Montana and DOC standards related to website design and brand consistency. * Monitors website usage and shares the information with relevant staff on a regular basis. * Troubleshoots website issues as reported. * Works with SITSD team to find secure, timely solutions to content needs. * Continues education by attending trainings to keep abreast of best practices in a changing technical environment. * Experience using web content management systems is required.
