Digital Payload Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE)

The RF Payload Systems Engineering team on the Wildfire program portfolio is looking for a Digital Payload Responsible Systems Engineer \(RSE\)\. The RSE will manage the crypto, timing, and digital communication units on the payload subsystem\. The RSE role entails supplier oversight, including Failure Review Board \(FRB\) support and guidance, acceptance of hardware, up to certification of hardware\. This role will also be responsible for supporting the integrated subsystem through Assembly Test & Launce \(ATLO\) campaigns and will support Space Vehicle \(SV\) integrated test activities, including first time operations and environmental testing\. Successful applicants will typically possess 5\+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering \(Electrical, Aerospace, or another related engineering field\) or equivalent experience/combined education\. **Basic Qualifications:** Skill Requirements: • Experience with digital communication hardware • Experience with RF Communication Systems Security Clearance Requirements: • To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U\.S\. Citizen\. • Qualified applicants must possess an Active Secret security clearance \(DOD Secret\) **Desired Skills:** • Graduate degree in an engineering/ technical discipline from an accredited college • Experience in Networking routing/traffic management and troubleshooting • Experience in Digital communication • Experience with RF Communication Systems • Responsible Systems Engineer \(RSE\) and/or Certified Principal Engineer \(CPE\) certification \(or equivalent\) • Systems engineering experience including generation and derivation of requirements • Experience with Systems Integration and Verification • Hardware and/or software troubleshooting experience • Previous Space Vehicle and/or Payload Assembly Test & Launch \(ATLO\) experience • Ability to work support off\-shifts and weekends as needed\. • Experience supporting or leading Failure Review Board \(FRB\) meetings • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with management, and peers • Experience/Ability to work in a fast paced environment **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\. **Clearance Level:** Secret **Other Important Information You Should Know** **Expression of Interest:** By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\. **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\. **Schedule for this Position:** 9x80 every other Friday off **Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York \(excluding most major metropolitan areas\), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $93,400 \- $179,000\. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location\. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only\.
