Nexstar Broadcasting station, KRON4, the San Francisco Bay Area’s Local News Station, seeks a Digital Producer. This position is responsible for day-to-day content on our digital efforts and will work closely with our News Director, Digital Director and Assignment Desk for the most accurate and up-to-date news of the day on-line.

This will be a regular, full-time, non-union, non-exempt position. Schedule will be flexible but may include evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Curate and produce a steady stream of interesting original content as well as content shared from other stations in the companyMonitor all forms of media (print, TV, digital, blogs, and social) and be quick to report breaking newsAlways on the hunt for exclusive and/or trending content that will grow engagement and drive loyal, local trafficFlexibility to perform dutiesExcellent at writing headlines that grow audience and engagementPrioritize packaging content that grows page views per visitor and time-on-site, using headline testing, metric tools, and observed patterns to guide decision makingUnderstand different ways to tell a story, particularly producing/sourcing short videos and choosing great photos from station archives and stock photography/newswire optionsEvaluate website traffic trends to make decisions on both daily content needs and, in concert with the team, longer-term content curation that will grow the local audienceBuild positive working relationships with station staff and management, work collaboratively on enterprise content, and create opportunities to drive to web content from broadcastDistribute news content on social media in line with the station's social media strategy

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent writing and editing skills, attention to detailFamiliarity with news writing and journalistic standardsFamiliarity with CMS production and graphics programs such as PhotoshopWrites content, headlines, posts, etc., that gets clicks without being considered “clickbait”Some schedule flexibility (nights, weekends, early mornings)Regularly meets measurements of successUnderstanding of Adobe Analytics; Chartbeat experience a plusProficiency in MS Office; HTML experience a plusBasic proficiency in the Adobe suite a plusSolid news judgment

Compensation:  $25+/hr. to commensurate with experience and skill level
